Description

The book is a unique effort by the author to provide an emergency manual towards the conditions related to pregnancy. This work deals exclusively with the remedies and their application to the abnormal conditions of parturition, those which occur directly before, during or after labor or abortion.

Through this book the author shows sympathy for those who bring into the world human life and the immortal soul has induced me to offer this aid to the profession.

It is hoped this manual will lead the accoucheur to the indicated remedy direct, without hesitation or delay. The set of Repertories will aid in this. The experience of the many is that of uncertainty at the bedside, with the necessity of guessing or of re- turning to the office to ” look up ” the case, thus losing valuable time or recourse to that worse practice of ” regular ” means and meddlesome midwifery.

How will the book be helpful? –

– This manual will remedy this difficulty, and give the prescriber the power to relieve suffering, and bring glory to the great cause of Homoeopathy.

-If the prescriber will depend on his remedies, carefully selecting them at the bedside, he will gain confidence in them and in himself, efficiently transferring real pain into the expulsive force of labor with- out undue suffering.

– We have a universal law, and in no class of cases will the prescriber get better or quicker results than in those of labor. These are the reasons for this manual to overlook the imperfections of detail and plan, and seek the good for the relief of your trusting and expectant patient.

Dr. W A YINGLING

William A. YINGLING, MD, lived and practiced in Emporia, KS from 1896 until his death. He was educated for medical missionary work, but after receiving his appointment to go to Bombay, India he became ill and could not carry out that mission. He filled the pulpit at Findlay, OH for seven years, and then moved to Dodge City where he engaged in the cattle business. He named the Ness county town of Nonchalanta in 1886. He reluctantly returned to the practice of medicine to relieve the suffering in the area north of Dodge City. His practice became extensive, extending to the neighboring states. He was quite religious and missed Methodist church services just once in 32 years.
